How do I know if my phone is compatible with Minitext?
The mobile teletext platform was originally developed for Blackberry smartphones but versions now exist which are compatible with most internet-connected devices. Full details of compatible phones are available on the Downloads page.

How do I get Minitext on my mobile phone?
Simply fill in the appropriate details on the Downloads page and we will send you an SMS containing a link to enable you to download Minitext onto your handheld device.

How do I use Minitext?

When you download Minitext onto your mobile phone, you will see this icon on your desktop. Simply click on the icon to launch Minitext and access the various content channels available.

How does Minitext differ from teletext?
Minitext provides the same ease of use as teletext on your TV, with pages accessed by keying in the required three-digit page number on your phone or the red, green, yellow and blue fastext links available via the menu.

However, pages are optimised for fast retrieval so there's no need for to wait until the one you want becomes available in the carousel. In addition, sub-pages can be accessed direct - for example by keying 1234 on your phone keypad, page 123 sub-page 4 will appear on screen.

The application is also intuitive and will present options via the on-screen menu for Next Page, Next Sub-Page and Previous Page when these are available. There is even an option to show the text in UPPERCASE to make the information easier to read.

Which companies can provide a Minitext content channel?
Traditional teletext services have been provided by television companies able to afford the technical infrastructure to broadcast them. Minitext does not require this infrastructure, allowing any company to provide a content channel as a new and effective method of communicating with their customers - you can also update your own pages quickly and easily via the internet.
